Nonprofit

A nonprofit is an organization that operates for purposes other than making a profit. Instead of distributing profits to shareholders or owners, a nonprofit allocates any surplus revenues to further its mission, which typically focuses on social, educational, charitable, scientific, or religious goals. Nonprofits can be structured in various forms, such as charities, foundations, or associations, and they often rely on donations, grants, and volunteers to support their activities. They are usually tax-exempt under specific conditions, which allows them to use more of their resources for their intended purposes rather than paying taxes. Nonprofits play a critical role in addressing societal needs and providing services that may not be adequately met by the private or public sectors.
